This is one of my favorite San Francisco documents! This is a detailed, though short of some perspective, painted view of San Francisco at the time of the American takeover when it was the Mexican village of Yerba Buena. It’s a gorgeous painting detailing the convergence of the land, bay, and lives. The view shows who lived where, the first streets, named hills and ships of war at anchor. Great on San Francisco items.
